A few days ago I had an experience that reminded me of a time a few years ago. At the time, my brother had come over to get his hair cut. Now I am not a professional when it comes to hair cutting, but I can get by with the basics. Usually I just take the clippers, put it on the longest setting and buzz the top. Then I work my way around the sides until it looks decent enough to go out in public. On this particular afternoon as I was buzzing the back of my brother’s neck, I noticed that his hair grew a little differently in one spot. Without thinking about it, I paused and made a quiet “huh…” comment. I guess I should have thought about doing that when another individual is relying on you to do something that could jeopardize his or her immediate dating possibilities. Needless to say he was a bit worried, but fine in the end.
What brought this memory to me? Well, Friday morning was pretty much like any other Friday morning. I got up, went for a run (um, yeah, that’s normal for me…) and came home to get ready for the day. Anjanette decided to take Katelyn with her as she went to the clubhouse so she could exercise too and left me with the sleeping Sadie. I knew I had a few minutes so I decided to cut my hair. For those of you who don’t know, this is not unusual for me, I have been cutting my hair (reasonably well too) for about eight years now. It just takes a few minutes and then I have to clean up which take a little longer. I knew I didn’t have too much time so I had to hurry. Well, after attaching the longest guard on my clippers and going across the top of my head, I thought, “huh… my hair was longer than I thought it was.” This time, the results were varied a little from those of my brother. As I looked up, it suddenly occurred to me how much a three can look like an eight when you’re in a hurry and don’t pay enough attention to the guard you’re putting on the clippers. Oops. I knew something like this would happen sooner or later and I am happy that most people don’t really seem to think it looks much different, but… I miss my hair.
She also has been having a lot of fun with her tongue. This is a normal look for her. Our little doggie. She got another tooth today and I wonder if that is why her tongue is going crazy.
