No more room

I have recently been getting workbooks from the dollar store for Katelyn to do. She has been really enjoying them. They are a little easy for her, but it makes her feel good that she can do them. At first I was tearing out a page and having her do it and then I would draw a smiley face on it and she would hang it on the fridge. The last few days she has wanted to do page after page after page. So the fridge is getting a little out of control.

Sadie also got her first tooth. I feel awful that she was having a tooth cutting through at the same time that she was sick. Poor girl. She is happy now though. Yesterday morning I noticed she was using her tongue and feeling it. It was really cute and that is what clued me in to check and sure enough there it was. Katelyn got her first tooth when she was 5 1/2 months and the two bottom and two top by 8 months, so it has surprised me not to see a tooth in Sadie's mouth until now.

No more screaming and crying...please?

So this long weekend for us was full of sickness. It started last week with Katelyn getting a fever on Tuesday and not eating almost anything all week. She was waking up screaming and crying and was totally inconsolable at night and during naps. On Friday we decided that something was going on and we took her to the doctor. He looked in her mouth and said well that's what is going on. In the back of her mouth there were two large sores. He said that it is caused by a very contagious virus called Hand Foot Mouth Disease. He said that she probably has these sores all the way down her throat. Poor girl. No wonder she didn't want to eat. With this virus sores can also develop on your feet and hands (hence the name). She didn't have any on her feet, but did have a few small red bumps on her hands. She is doing a whole lot better now and has slept two nights now without screaming and crying throughout the night.

Friday night I started feeling really awful. I had a fever throughout the night and the next day. Saturday night Sadie got a fever. I only got maybe 2 hours of sleep that night. She was up every 30 minutes screaming uncontrollably. Sunday and Monday she nursed only twice a day. I felt fine yesterday so I was hoping that Sadie would feel fine today and I was right! She has been her happy self. I don't think Sadie or I have what Katelyn did. No sores have appeared yet. I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. Being sick sucks, but having sick kids is the worst.

The outing from H-E-double hockey sticks

I would like to start this by saying, I love Sadie. And now on with the story. This week we have mostly stayed at home. On Monday we took Katelyn to her new gymnastics class I signed her up for. She loved it and did really well at following directions. Today I decided we would go to story time and the store. We had breakfast and did some laundry. I gave the girls baths and got them dressed. Sadie was hungry and tired, so I fed her and put her down for her nap. An hour later, I woke her up so we could get to story time. When I got her out of the carseat her pants were all wet. I sat Katelyn down for story time and took Sadie to the bathroom. She was screaming her head off because she hates those changing stations. She had a total blow out. All over her pants and shirt. I searched my bag and happened to find a onesie. I cleaned her up the best I could, while she is having a total melt down. I packed everything up and washed my hands. To top all of this off, the minute I pick her up, her pacifier falls out and right into the toilet. So now I have a handful of dirty clothes, a disgusting pacifier, and a very emotional 7 month old dressed only in a onesie and socks in the middle of winter. I am exhausted.
