Colorado Trip Part 3: Reliving our childhood

Nate and I are always trying to think of new things to do and places to go. So when we were planning our trip to Colorado we decided to do the things we really loved to do when we lived here growing up. We were crazy busy, but it was so much fun.

Sunday: Went to church

Monday: Walked Pearl Street

Met Sarah Abruscato at Chautauqua for lunch. It was really good to see her and her mom. It has been forever and she just happened to be in town while I was there. I wish I had got a pic.

We spent a half day at Waterworld. It was really crowded and rained on us a bit, but was a lot of fun. Now Katelyn calls every pool that has a slide waterworld. At the end of our trip, Katelyn said that this was her favorite part.

Tuesday: Casa Bonita. That's right we ate some mediocre Mexican food in a big pink castle and enjoyed ourselves a lot.

They also have diving shows here, but none of our pictures turned out very good.Wednesday: Rollerskating. The place I always use to go in Longmont isn't opened anymore, but this place was just as good. My mom was nice enough to stay home with Sadie. This was Katelyn's first time.

Katelyn's feet were hurting so she sat on the wall for awhile and gave us high fives as we went by. When we left we took her roller skate off and the padding was all bunch up at the toe of her roller skate. I guess we know why her feet were hurting now.

We got Pudge Brothers pizza for dinner. Nate worked there in High school and I love it. There is nothing that tastes the same. I'm so glad it is back.

That night we were invited over with other young married couples to play games with Ben and Brea Newson. It worked out great because we put the kids to bed and headed out. It was great to talk and have a good laugh.

Thursday: Spent the morning with my Grandma Thompson.

Adventure Golf. Nate and I both love mini golfing. I'm not all that great, but this place is so fun. Katelyn is pretty good until she loses focus.

Friday: Denver Museum. We met Sarah there and explored space, expedition health, animals, and the kids zone. Warning, warning, warning. These next few pictures are startling and graphic. They just had to be documented though. They had a program that would age your face to 70 and also show you the effect of smoking, UV damage, and obesity. It was not a pretty site.

This really didn't make me want to grow old. I'm not going to be a looker, that's for sure.

That night Nate and I met up with some friends at the Louisville street fair. It was nice that we were able to go out together and I really wish we lived closer.

Saturday: Met up with Kristen's family. Madison is so cute and funny. Katelyn had a great time playing with her in my parents backyard.

Sadie hung out in the swing. She is totally obsessed with swings. She gets so upset when you try and take her out.

It is crazy to think that Kristen and I have been friends since Kindergarten.

Then we went to the Aquarium with Grandma P. This was one place we had never been before. It was so busy and crowded but really cool.

We enjoyed hanging out with the sharks.

It is nice to be home now but I really do miss my family. I love being with them so much.

Colorado Trip Part 2

During our trip in Colorado, Anya was baptized. It was great that we could be there with her. One of the highlights for me was when Anya, Jared, Carra, and Katelyn sang together "I'm Trying To Be Like Jesus". They did such a good job and were so cute standing up there together. I was so happy that Katelyn sang every word and wasn't being shy. Congratulations Anya. I am very proud of you.

Colorado Trip Part 1: Cousin Camp

We drove to Colorado on Wednesday and met everyone for dinner.

We were celebrating my Grandma Thompson's 89th Birthday. She had no idea any of us were coming. She was really surprised to see us and then my brother Travis walked in she was even more surprised. Sarah's family also came and she was still surprised at that.

One of the reasons for our trip was for Cousin Camp. My mom really wanted the kids to get together and have fun. The kids all slept in a tent in the backyard and my mom even slept with them. They had great fun being together.

We went to the zoo the first day. Nate said that this Polar bear was practicing to be a rug.

After dinner, that night we roasted marshmallows. This was Katelyn's first time. I'm holding her stick up so she wouldn't put it in the ashes.

The next day we went on a walk and played games.

The kids played on a slip'n'slide and the adults had a water fight. The kid inside of us always comes out when water is involved.

Watermelon
