Enjoying Summer

Sadie loves to walk to church (yes, we don't live in Utah any more and we still have a church building in our neighborhood). She likes to be all decked out.

Juliette is starting to get use to her baths. She still gets startled every few minutes, but it is getting better.

I think this is her favorite part of the bath, all done and in her towel.

She loves laying in her crib watching and listening to her mobile. The second it gets turned on she gives a smile.

For Carra's birthday (one of the girls cousins), we went to the WOW museum in Lafayette. They had fun learning about pulleys (Katelyn, Anya, and Carra),

making big bubbles (Henri),

and dressing up.

We got to see Nate's grandparents this weekend and spend time with Ashton (Nate's brother) on his birthday.

Juliette's Blessing

Nate blessed Juliette at church this last Sunday, July 10. We had a great day with family and food. It all turned out really well. We also got to be with Sarah and Gail on their birthday's.

Juliette was able to wear our special blessing dress that all my girls, Sarah's girls, as well as Sarah and I wore. We have a very special little girl that has come to live in our home. We are so blessed to have her. Nate said that during the blessing she was smiling up at everyone. We love our happy little girl. Thank you so much for those that could come.

Juliette has started to smile all the time. I love when you don't have to try so hard to get a smile. She really likes to smile with her tongue on the roof of her mouth or slightly sticking out.

So much to celebrate

Juliette is now a month old and is doing fabulous. She is starting to give us some smiles which all of us love. Apparently Sadie sees way more smiles than the rest of us because she is always telling us that "Juliette just smiled at me." Katelyn really does get the most smiles from her baby sister. They love interacting with each other. I think Katelyn wishes her sister was awake more often so they could play more.

Juliette is an incredibly good baby. I have been reluctant to talk about it too much just in case she all the sudden changes. I feel amazing and I think it all has to do with how much she lets me sleep. She sleeps 5-6 hours, eats, goes right back to bed, sleeps for 3-4 more hours. Then during the day she sleeps for 3 hour periods of time. I've also never had a baby before that doesn't nurse to go to sleep. She does some times, but it seems like she doesn't really like sucking as much as some other babies do. This baby really does like her sleep. I've even swaddled her put her in her crib and left and she has fallen asleep all by herself without any crying. I am truly in love with my sweet, sweet baby. The one thing she does cry about, the car.

I am always amazed at how much they change in just one month.


We had a great 4th of July. We had a ward pancake breakfast at our church, visited Paula, Ashton, Zarah, and David, had a BBQ with my parents and sister's family, and went and saw Cars2.

To quote my husband, "Woke up this morning thankful for those inspired people who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we all enjoy today and at the same time was reminded that when we forget where those freedoms come from, they will no longer be ours. May we always remember who we are and how we have come to live in such a wonderful time and place."
